The port is situated right in the heart of the town which holds a Population:of around 3,219. Honningsvag is the largest of the ports in the North of Norway and called the gateway to the Northern Cape. There isnt much to do around the town itself as it is very small, but there is small Ice bar situated right next to the port where you can grab a beer and chill (literally) with some friends or family in a bar entirely made from ice. Do note that there is an entry fee of around 135Nok (15 euro) but for those who have never seen an ice bar its worth the visit for a few cool pictures. After taking a look around the port if you would like to get a good view and you dont mind getting a little sweaty i suggest taking a hike to the top of the hill which you see directly in front of you from the port. There is a very thin dirt path which leads up to it from behind the town which may take you around 30 to 40 mins to get to the top but be aware its quite steep and not for the faint hearted. Fitness and good health is a must here. Do not miss the Sunsets late at night around midnight as the sun doesnt fully set in summer so you can marvel at a sunset like in the above picture. Heavenly!

For those not into Hiking up steep slopes you can just take the bus directly up to the North Cape (Nordkapp)which takes about 30 minutes in total. The North Cape is the foremost highlight of the trip. I suggest you choose the right time to go though to get the best view possible as weather is unpredictable in Nordkapp and I was not so lucky to catch good weather and found myself caught up in a bit of a fog storm on arrival as you can see in the pictures above. But i still enjoyed the trip and was not disappointed at all as each moment and picture reminds you of a very special and unique moment in your life. If your lucky enough to catch an amazing sunset then sit back, relax and enjoy this masterpiece of a view with family or a loved one and make yourself a memory to never forget. There is also an indoor museum which shows all the history about the North Cape including a restaurant cafe and public toilets. Honningsvag & the North Cape are special and unique places which will always remain in my heart. I made some beautiful memories here and thoroughly enjoyed being there. A tranquil and peaceful location for families and couples.
